ChatGPT

Prerequisites

Before you can configure and use ChatGPT with Connect AI, you must first connect a data source to your Connect AI account. See Sources for more information.

You also need ChatGPT Plus or Pro.

Configure the Connect AI MCP Server

1. In ChatGPT, go to Settings > Apps > Advanced settings and then toggle Developer mode on.

2. Return to Settings > Apps and click Create app. A New App dialog appears.

3. In the New App dialog, enter the following:

   • Name–enter a name for the app, such as QueryMCP.
   • Description–enter a description for the app.
   • MCP Server URL–enter the URL for the MCP server: https://mcp.cloud.cdata.com/mcp.
   • Authentication–select OAuth.
4. Select I understand and want to continue.

   
5. Click Create.

6. Connect AI prompts you for a username and password.

7. In the ChatGPT chat session, click the + button and then More > Developer Mode.

8. Click Add files and more > More and toggle on the app you created. The app appears in the chat session.

   
9. Ask ChatGPT questions about your data. ChatGPT may ask your permission to access the data.

10. Expand Called tool to view details about how ChatGPT accesses your data using MCP tools.
